My walk this morning was dedicated in honor of:
Army SGT Tommy Ray Thompson, Age 22 of Akron, OH.
KIA Dec. 2, 1967 Vietnam
He is honored at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall on Panel 31E, Line 27.
Tommy is buried at Mt Peace Cemetery in Akron, OH.
Served with the 25th Infantry Division, 1st Battalion, 5th Infantry, B Company.
He enlisted in the Army. Entered via Regular Military. Served during the Vietnam War. He began his tour on February 23, 1967. He had the rank of Sergeant. Occupation or specialty was Light Weapons Infantry.
SGT Thompson was awarded: Purple Heart, National Defense, Vietnam Service, and Vietnam Campaign medals.
We had an amazing 6.82 Mile walk this morning. We made a stop in the Crossville, City Cemetery to visit with some of our Fallen Brothers and Sisters in Arms.
I want to thank all those who honked, waved, and saluted in helping me honor this hero.
