Today our walk was dedicated in honor of:
Army SGT. Anthony R. Maddox, Age 22 of Port Arthur, TX.
Died Jul 22,2013
SGT Maddox was assigned to 10th Brigade Support Battalion, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, N.Y.
He was only 22 years old. He died 2 days from injuries he sustained due to a Petroleum explosion incident with an Afghanistan truck on the FOB.
He was born in Louisiana on 11/15/1990, attend junior and high school in Illinois, and completed his senior year of high-school in Texas in 2009.
We had a great 5.96 Mile walk this afternoon. We walked my Holiday Hills Lake and then headed up town to the War Memorial Park where we read some names on the Memorial Wall. We also found a hand painted rock that was very nice. We walked in the park and then we headed north. We made a short stop to look at the big flag by the Bakery and then headed back to the house. I want to thank my friend Robert for walking with us today. I also want to thank everyone who honked, waved, and saluted in helping us honor this hero today. We had 134 honks. It was amazing. Thank you.
Army SGT. Anthony R. Maddox will not be forgotten !
