Our walk today was dedicated in honor of:
Army PFC Herbert Reed, Age 31 of Williamson County, TN.
KIA Mar. 25, 1945
PFC Reed was killed in Germany. Reed was a member of a field artillery unit. PFC Reed entered the service in 1940 and had been overseas for 29 months. He served in North Africa, Sicily, and then was sent to England to take part in the invasion of France.
Before entering the service, Reed was with the Tennessee Vally Authority. He received the Purple Heart.
We had a great 1.05 Mile walk today at the Stones River National Cemetery in Murfreesboro, TN. We walked to his grave and honored him and then we walked around the cemetery and visited several other fallen heroes. We didn’t get rained on. It was a good short walk. I want to thank my friend Robert for walking with us and helping me honor this great hero.
Army PFC Herbert Reed will not be forgotten !
