Today my walk was dedicated in honor of:
Army PFC Richard Lee Borgman, Age 21 of Minot, ND.
KIA Mar. 3, 1968 Vietnam
He began his tour on January 22, 1968. Borgman had the rank of Private First Class. His military occupation or specialty was Light Weapons Infantry.
He was attached to 101st Airborne Division, 1st Battalion, 502nd Infantry, B Company.
Died through hostile action, small arms fire. Incident location: Ap Duc Trong 10km NW of Hue, South Vietnam, Thua Thien province.
He is buried in the Rosehill Memorial Park, ND.
He is honored at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall on panel 42E, Line 47
PFC Borgman was awarded the Purple Heart, National Defense, Vietnam Service, and Vietnam Campaign medals.
We had an amazing walk this morning. We walked 6.03 Miles. We stopped by the War Memorial Park down town. The weather was beautiful. I want to thank my friend Robert for walking with us today. I want to thank all who honked, waved, and saluted in helping me honor this hero.
