Our walk today was dedicated in honor of:
Army PVT James Marion Heath, Age 65 of Union County, TN
Died Jun 2, 1903
Born in Campbell County, TN and died in Union County, TN. He fought in the Civil War.
He was a Private in the 1st TN Inf. as a Union soldier. He served from 1861 to 1864. Saw action at the Cumberland Gap, Nashville, Murfreesboro, and the Battle of Mossy Creek in East TN. After the war, he owned and operated a water powered sawmill in Union County.
We had a great 5.93 Mile walk this morning. We walked along side Holiday Hills Lake and seen the geese enjoying their morning. We then headed down Miller Ave and then towards town. We made a stop at the War Memorial Park and read some names on the Civil War Memorial Wall. We then headed up main street and we got to talk with a young man about what we were doing. We then headed back towards the house. I want to thank my friend Robert for walking with us and I want to thank everyone who honked, waved, and saluted in helping us honor this hero today. We had 90 honks. It was an amazing walk. Thank you.
Army PVT James Marion Heath will not be forgotten !
