My walk today was dedicated in honor of:
Marine CPL Jacob H. Turbett, Age 21 of Canton, MI.
KIA Feb. 13, 2010 Operation Enduring Freedom
Turbett was assigned to 2nd Combat Engineer Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.
Jacob grew up in Wayne County Michigan’s Canton Township, west of Detroit.
He had previously served in Iraq where he worked a mine sweeper. Deployed to Afghanistan, he died while supporting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan.
He is buried in the Arlington National Cemetery
We had a great 6.28 Mile walk today. We stopped by the 911 Memorial and then walked up town to the War Memorial Park. I want to thank my friend Robert for walking with us this morning and I want to thank all who honked, waved, and saluted in helping us honor this hero this morning. We had 85 honks. Thank you.
