My walk was dedicated in honor of :
WWII Army Veteran PFC Charles Edward Aytes Age 65 of Ozone, TN.
Died Aug. 31, 1982 and is buried at the Ozone Cemetery
He was a POW and also received Purple Heart and a silver star.
What an amazing walk today. PFC Aytes led me on a 15.85 mile walk that lead me threw our state park. I can not put into words how it felt. Was amazing. I got to see 4 deer and over 20 wild turkey’s. The mountain views were so beautiful. I want to thank everyone who honked and waved in helping me honor this hero. It was amazing and I can’t thank you all enough for all your honks.
He will NOT be forgotten.
