PFC Basham was awarded the Purple Heart, National Defense, Vietnam Service, and Vietnam Campaign medals.
He is buried in the Spring Vale Cemetery, Lafayette, IN.
We had an amazing 9.82 Mile walk. We headed out around 6:30 and stopped by the 9/11 Memorial for a min and then over by Walmart and then to Genesis Road and stopped by the I-40 overpass. We then headed back and walked by the post office and back to Sparta Highway. I want to thank my friend Robert for walking with me and I want to thank everyone who honked, waved, and saluted in helping me honor this hero. We had 282 honks this morning.
Marine PFC James Darryl Basham will not be forgotten.
NOTE: I want to thank Clayton Windows for flying our beautiful colors.
