Army SPC Carrie L. French of Caldwell, Idaho was a fun-loving young woman with a warm heart and a desire to serve and a gallant and heroic young woman and will always be remembered for her love of country and state and for her unwavering commitment to those principles that have preserved for all of us those freedoms we so cherish. She loved the outdoors and hoped to attend college and law school after her tour of duty. She served as an ammunition specialist. For her high school graduation gift she asked her father to take her skydiving. Carrie joined the Idaho National Guard to help pay for college and she was nervous about going to Iraq but proud to serve. She was baptized as a Christian in Iraq to the staccato sound of small-arms fire. Carrie was a 2004 Caldwell High School graduate who enjoyed sports and was on the cheerleading Squad.
She received the Bronze Star Medal and Purple Heart.
We had a great 6.22 Mile walk today. We started out by walking down Sparta Drive and walked by the Disabled American Veterans office and then made our way to the War Memorial Park down town. Then we headed back on 127 and stopped to look at the beautiful flag flying at the Bakery before heading back home. I want to thank my friend Robert for walking with us today. I want to thank everyone who honked, waved, and saluted in helping us honor this hero today.

Army SPC Carrie L. French will not be forgotten !
