Our walk today was dedicated in honor of:
Army Veteran John Wesley Hendon Jr, Age 63 of Estill Springs, TN.
Died Nov. 12, 2023
Mr. Hendon was born in Manchester, Tenn., to the late John Wesley and Willie Pauline Hendon on October 15, 1960. After graduating from high school, Mr. Hendon fulfilled his call to duty by joining the Army National Guard. He served with the Unit in Winchester where he retired after 22 years. He was employed for 13 years at the former Lanier Clothing in Decherd and then with Tepro in Winchester for 30 years before his retirement. Mr. Hendon was a member of the South Jackson Church of Christ in Tullahoma. He loved fishing, hunting, cooking and grilling. He will be remembered as a hard working, fun loving and devoted, husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and cousin.
We had a great 6.62 Mile walk this morning. It was a blustery 28 deg. but the sun was out and perfect for a walk out in the country. Not much traffic. Nice peaceful walk. I want to thank my friend Robert for walking with us and I want to thank everyone that honked, waved, and saluted in helping us honor this hero. We had 61 honks today. It was great. Thank you.
Army Veteran John Wesley Hendon Jr will not be forgotten !
