Today our walk was dedicated in honor of:
Air Force Veteran James Karban, Age 72 of Belleville, IL.
Died Oct. 3, 2019
“This will be the fourth birthday that we’ll celebrate without our dad here with us. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran that didn’t get the welcome home he deserved. Agent Orange stole his youthfulness, his humor and eventually his life. We miss the fun he brought to every family get together, but we can see the joy and humor in all 10 of his grandchildren. I miss his random annoying phone calls and his fatherly advice, but most of all, his love and support. We are all a bit lost without him. Happy birthday, Dad! We love you!”
We had a great 4.48 Mile walk this morning. We headed east on Sparta Hwy and we met up with Jake who is walking across America at the Speedway. We had a great visit with Jake and my friend Gary then we walked with Jake to the post office and we said our good byes and I continued my walk back to the house. It was a beautiful day for a walk. I want to thank everyone who Honked, waved and saluted. We had 84 honks this morning. Thank you
Air Force Veteran James Karban will not be forgotten !
