Army PFC Asia Graham , Age 19 of Ft Bliss, ElPaso, TX.
Died Dec. 31, 2020
Asia was born in Amber-Sulzbach, Germany. She was a ray of sunshine . Very caring especially her mother she loved to hang out with her friends and go help homeless people. She was very loved. If you were loved by Asia you experienced a special love, she was a great aunt. My oldest grandchild misses the adventure Asia took her on. She loved nature and animals..
She entered the Army right out of high school and was following her fathers footsteps who had served several years. Graham was sexually assaulted by another soldier in 2019 and was in the process of getting justice in her case when she was found dead in her barracks room on New Year’s Eve.
We had an amazing 5.47 Mile walk today. Asia’s brother Anthony and his friend came all the way from NC to walk with us today. It was amazing and was such an honor. We walked up town to the War Memorial Park and walked back on West Ave. Each walk is special in its very own way and today was no different. Walking with a family member hearing the stories. I want to thank my friend Robert for walking with us today also. I want to thank Anthony and his friend for coming all this way and sharing with us. I want to thank everyone who honked, and waved and saluted in helping us honor this hero. You not only honored this fallen hero you showed a family member of this fallen hero that you cared. It was really heart warming. We actually broke the record of honks today by 6 honks. Today we had 663 honks. It was amazing. Thank you.
