Our walk today was dedicated in honor of:
Navy HM1 Sean Taylor Pergerson, Age 47 of Blowing Rock, NC.
Died Mar. 2, 2019
Pergerson enlisted in the U.S. Navy as a Hospital Corpsman, assisting health care professionals in providing medical care to Navy & Marine Corps personnel and their families. Hospital Corpsmen may also serve as specialty technicians, medical administrative personnel, or healthcare providers at medical treatment facilities. Pergerson served two tours of duty in Iraq, attached to the U.S. Marines in Ramadi, Iraq. He was injured in a blast during his second deployment, was decorated for his valor, and retired with a full Medical Discharge.
Pergerson attended Patterson High School in Blowing Rock, NC. He later relocated to California, where he married, became a father, and focused on raising his two wonderful children. Pergerson’s lifelong passion for helping others and his heart for healing led him to work as an EMT and connect with the Cardiovascular Center of Marin, CA. Eventually, he moved back to North Carolina to help his father with the family farm and began working on an energy-efficient home and live-edge natural furniture. Pergerson was close with his friends and family but shared special bonds with his sister, niece, cousin, and best friend. He was beloved within his circle, and his loved ones were always front and center in his life. Pergerson was an amazing man with a heart for service whose legacy is honored and remembered
We had a great 5.79 mile walk. We walked by Lake Holiday and watched two ducks swimming in the spillway. We then walked up town and went by Boats & Harbors to see the big boat anchor. We walked by the Military Memorial Museum and then stopped by the War Memorial Park before heading home. I want to thank my friend Robert for walking with us today and I want to thank all who honked, waved, and saluted in helping us honor this hero today. We had 89 honks. Thank You
Navy HM1 Sean Taylor Pergerson will not be forgotten !
