Our walk today was dedicated in honor of:

Army SPC Jonathan Bryant, Age 21 of Fort Bragg, NC.
Died Jun. 22, 2021

He was always there for others. His best friend said at the service that when he was low and started self harm, Jonathan made him get help, checked in on him daily, when his friend got home Jonathan stayed until he ate and when Jonathan felt it was ok to leave for the night.
Jonathan never stood for bullying, would jump in if someone was being hurt. Jonathan is an animal lover! He has the biggest heart of gold. Almost everyone that met him said they loved him, he got on their damn nerves but they loved him lol. That was Jonathan. God made him good and cute so we didn’t hate him when he was a pain in the ass. So damn stubborn. So damn good.
Great son, brother, uncle, cousin, friend, so funny, beautiful boy into a beautiful man, so much life still ahead of him.

We had a wonderful 22.01 mile walk today. When we started out the temp. was like 28 deg. but by mid walk it was up in the 60’s. We started out by walking by Lake Holiday and then we headed out Lantana Road and turned onto Dunbar Road heading to Lake Tansi. Traffic was a little busy so we didn’t get as many photo’s their as we would have liked but I was able to get a photo of several ducks swimming their on Lake Tansi. We then headed on out Dunbar and tunred onto Hillendare Road. Mountain views were wonderful. We then turned back north on 127. We walked across the Frederick A. Hassler Memorial Bridge. (Memorial for one of our local fallen heroes). We also walked by the Cumberland Mountain State Park and one of our local VFW’s and the American Legion. We reached 22 miles just as we reached the War Memorial Park down town. It was amazing. We broke a new record on our walk. We had 657 honks today. Our last record was back on Nov. 22, 2021 with 534 so we really broke the record today.

I want to thank my friend Robert for walk with us today and I want to thank everyone who honked, waved, and saluted in helping us honor this hero today. It was a great walk. Thank You

Army SPC Jonathan Bryant will not be forgotten !
