Today my walk was dedicated in honor of:
Marine CPL Robert Oliver Garant, Age 21 of Murfreesboro, TN.
KIA Jul. 29, 1966 Vietnam
He enlisted in the US Marine Corps on September 9, 1963 in Nashville TN.
He served with the 3rd Marine Division, 2nd Battalion, 9th Marines, H Company
He is honored at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall on Panel 9E, Line 86.
Robert is buried at Evergreen Cemetery, Murfreesboro,TN.
CPL Garant was awarded the Purple Heart, National Defense, Vietnam Service and Vietnam Campaign Medals.
We had a great 6.18 Mile walk yesterday. It was a fast walk as I got a unexpected emergency call in the middle of it and had to run home but we had a good walk. I want to thank everyone who honked, waved, and saluted in helping me honor this hero. We had 135 honks. Thank you..
