Today my walk was dedicated in honor of:
Marine Veteran CPL Russell James Kowalski, Age 33 of Deville, LA.
Died Jun. 23, 2020
CPL Kowalski served from 2005-2009 in the USMC
Katrina 2005
Operation Iraqi Freedom 2006
His mother Tina says that he was her 4th child of 7 and that he was her goofiest son and loved to fix anything broken. Sadly we lost CPL Kowalski to the war within. The VA had stopped all treatments due to Covid19 and he was going through an unwanted divorce. He was also dealing with a lot of pain due to a back injury.
He was the father of a daughter age 12 and son age 9.
We had an amazing 10.35 Mile walk today. We first visited the War Memorial Park down town and then walked out and seen the buffalo out on 70 North and then we walked threw the Gardens and we stopped over at Holiday Hills lake before ending the walk back at the house. I want to thank everyone who honked, waved, and saluted in helping me honor this hero. You all are amazing .
Marine Veteran CPL Russell James Kowalski will not be forgotten !
I will always love and miss you brother. Russell you were a rock and the goof ball. I truly wish you were still here.
