Sgt. Zainah Caye Creamer, who died Jan. 12 in the Kandahar province of Afghanistan when her unit was attacked with homemade bombs. She was a dog handler with the 212th Military Police Detachment at Fort Belvoir, Va.

Sgt. Creamer is believed to be the first female Military Working Dog Handler killed in action since the program began in 1942. Sgt. Creamer served six years in the U.S. Army

Her dog, Jofa was not injured when Sgt. Creamer was killed.

We had a great 6.10 Mile walk today. I want to thank my friend Robert for walking with me. I want to thank everyone who honked, waved, and saluted in helping us honor this hero.
