Today our walk was dedicated in honor of:

Army Veteran Timothy Davenport, Age 53 of Rockwood, TN.
Died Aug. 16, 2021

Born in 1968 in Michigan, but grew up in Rockwood and graduated from Rockwood High School. Tim was a U.S. Army Veteran of Operation Desert Storm and was very proud of his military service. If you asked Tim his occupation, he would tell you that he was a “Professional Loafer”, but he was formerly a cemetery caretaker at Oak Grove Cemetery in Rockwood and was formerly employed at Simerly Burial Vault Company in Knoxville, Tennessee. Tim enjoyed motorcycling, especially on his Indian motorcycle and had many friends in the motorcycle community. He enjoyed watching wrestling from his youth. Most of all Tim had a really big heart, caring for others.

It was an honor to walk 10.46 Miles with Army Veteran Timothy Davenport. We started out by walking by Holiday Hills Lake and watch some geese. We then met up with family member James at TCAT. We then worked our way down town to the Veterans Memorial Park where we read some names of our Fallen Brothers on the Memorial Wall. We then worked our way north and turned on Northside Drive and then back to Sparta Hwy. I want to thank everyone who honked, waved, and saluted in helping me honor this hero. We had 474 honks today. It was amazing. Thank you.
