Today our walk was dedicated in honor of:

Marine LCPL Cody Garrette White, Age 19 of Guyton, GA.
Died Mar. 7, 2024

Cody only 19yrs old loved to be the typical teenager. He was an entertainer in dancing and singing. He loved getting smiles and laughs from people. He spent time on the lake tubing, video games and driving as he hadn’t had his license long. He leaves behind a huge family who misses his big personality so much. He would just probably get a kick out of his name being kept alive all over. And knowing my son if he could save another life by sharing he would.

Cody passed away while serving in the Marines in Okinawa Japan.

It was a great honor to walk 10.32 miles with Marine LCPL Cody Garrette White.

We headed out into the rain around 6am. We walked by Holiday Hills Lake and then we headed for town. We made a stop in at the Veterans Memorial Park. We read several names on the memorial wall of our Fallen Brothers. We then headed north and went into the Obed River Park. It was quiet except for the birds singing and then the sound of rushing water as we walked by the little water fall. The rain was coming down but it wasn’t stopping us as we headed out the other side of the park. We headed back south and made a stop in at the 9/11 Memorial. We then continued south till we got to Miller Ave. and then we headed back towards the house. Even though it rained the whole time, we had an amazing walk. I want to thank everyone who honked, waved, and saluted in helping me honor this hero. We had 262 honks today. It was so amazing. Thank you !

Marine LCPL Cody Garrette White will not be forgotten !
