My walk today was dedicated in honor of:
Army SGT Clarence Edward Barnes, Age 22 of Harriman, TN.
KIA April 11, 1966 Vietnam
He is honored at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall on Panel 6E, Line 97.
He is buried in the Roane Memorial Gardens in Rockwood, TN.
He was assigned to Unit B CO, 1st Battalion, 2nd Infantry, 1st Infantry Division, USARV
Army SGT Barnes started his tour on Dec. 20, 1965
He was killed by small arms fire in Vietnam.
We had an amazing 14.03 Mile walk today. We started our walk at the Roane County War Memorial Veterans Plaza at the Riverfront Park in Harriman, TN. We walked to his grave in the Roane Memorial Gardens in Rockwood, Tn. Then we walked back. I want to thank my friend Robert for walking with us and making this walk possible. I also want to thank everyone who honked, waved, and saluted in helping us honor this hero. Thank you Roane County for helping us remember this Hero !
