My walk today was dedicated in honor of:
Marine LCPL James Kenneth Frye, Age 21 of Aledo, IL.
KIA Dec. 1, 1967 Vietnam
James is honored at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall on Panel 31E, Line 20.
He is buried at the Aledo Cemetery in Aledo, IL.
LCpl. U.S. Marine Corps, Vietnam War-LCpl. Frye died of his wounds by rocket fire on 12-1-1967 while serving as a Field Artillery Cannoneer with Battery K of the 4th Battalion of the 13th Marine Regiment of the 3rd Marine Division. LCpl. Frye started his tour of Vietnam on September 10, 1967. The incident date was 10-2-1967.
awards: Purple Heart Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Vietnam Service Medal with One Service Star, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal.
We had a great 5.40 Mile walk this morning. The weather was a little cooler then normal but was great for walking. I want to thank everyone who honked, waved, and saluted in helping me honor this hero. You all are amazing.
