Today my walk was dedicated in honor of:
Marine/Army Veteran SSG Dustin Lee Parker Age 39 from Crossville, TN.
Died Aug. 10, 2019
We should not forget his and his family sacrifices to our country. He was a 1998 Cumberland County High School graduate. Served 6 1/2 years in the Marine Corps and 8 years in the Army. Dustin was also a Volunteer Firefighter 2004-2010.
We will never forget Marine/Army Veteran SSG Dustin Lee Parker.
We had a great 22.18 Mile walk to Monterey today. When we started out we got to see a beautiful sunrise and then we got on 70 North. We made a few stops for water. It was very hot out but we still ended up averaging around 23 min. a mile even with all the water stops. Not only was Dustin and I honoring his service to our country we was bringing awareness to Veteran suicide. I am also doing a fundraiser for National Veteran Resources (Operation 22 to Zero). They go around the country collecting resources to help our veterans and first responders. I want to thank all who honked, waved, and saluted in helping me honor this hero. We had an amazing 338 honks today. Thank You
