Today our walk was dedicated in honor of:
Navy Veteran Peter P. Haspert III, Age 73 of York, PA.
Died Aug. 8, 2022
He graduated Mount Saint Joseph High School in MD in 1967 and attended the University of Baltimore School of Law. He then served proudly in the U.S. Navy as a Seabee NavCat 16. He was boots on the ground during the Vietnam War in 1969-1971. He retired from OPM (Office of Personnel Management) in Washington D.C. in July 2005 and relocated from Harford County, MD to York, PA to enjoy his retirement with his family.
He passed away Monday, August 8, 2022 (73) at Lebanon VA Medical Center from complications of Agent Orange Exposure: Lung, Colon, Brain and Prostate Cancer, Hypertension and Diabetes.
We had a great 6 mile walk today. On our way up town to the War Memorial Park we stopped by Boats & Harbors to see the big boat anchor in the window. After stopping at the War Memorial Park we headed back towards the house. I want to thank my friend Robert for walking with us today. I want to thank everyone who honked, waved, and saluted in helping us honor this hero this morning. We had 122 honks. It was amazing. Thank You !
