Our walk today was dedicated in honor of:

Army SSGT Timothy R. McGill, Age 30 of Ramsey, NJ.
KIA Sep. 21, 2013 During Operation Enduring Freedom

SSGT McGill was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 19th Special Forces Group, Middletown, R.I.

He died Sept. 21, at Forward Operating Base Shank, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked their unit with small arms fire while conducting range training in Gardez, Paktia Province, Afghanistan. He joined the Rhode Island National Guard in 2008 as an anti-armor specialist. He became an elite special forces soldier in 2011.

We had a great 6.14 Mile walk today. We started out by walking by Lake Holiday. We then headed up town to the War Memorial Park where we read several names on the Memorial Wall. We spent a little time walking around the park and then we headed back north on 127. We then headed back towards the house. I want to thank everyone who honked, waved, and saluted in helping us honor this hero. We had 127 honks today. It was amazing. Thank you.

Army SSGT Timothy R. McGill will not be forgotten !
