Today our walk was dedicated in honor of:

Army SGT Dylan Joseph Holley, Age 28 Of Topeka, KS.
Died Sep. 17, 2023

After graduating from Topeka High in 2013, Dylan pursued his dream of joining the United States Marine Corps where he served as a 1371 Combat Engineer. Following the Marines, Dylan was a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division of the United States Army. He served his country with pride, giving of himself as he did throughout his entire life. A warrior soul whose presence was felt by all who knew him.

Dylan continues to be loved by his wife and best friend, and daughters. His loving parents and Siblings. Grandparents and Great-Grandparents. As well as a host of beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and brothers in arms.

He will be missed by many.

It was a great honor to walk 6.68 Miles with Army SGT Dylan Joseph Holley today. It was a cold brisk 30 degrees when we started out. We first walked by The National Guard Armory and then we made a stop in at the 9/11 Memorial. We then walked over to main street and headed towards town where we stopped in at the Veterans Memorial Park where we read some names of our Fallen Brothers on the Memorial Wall. We continued our walk to Lantana Road before crossing over to West Ave. and heading back toward the house. I want to thank everyone who honked, waved, and saluted in helping me honor this hero today. We had 268 honks. It was amazing. We really had a great walk. Thank you.

Army SGT Dylan Joseph Holley will not be forgotten !

  1. Dylan was a buddy of mine. We met while in ROTC together in school. I’m starting a bit late in my military career, but it would’ve been awesome to serve with him. Thank you for honoring him and walking with him.
