My walk this morning was dedicated in honor of:

Navy Veteran Charles Buddy Clackley,Age 77 of Greenville, AL.
Died Jul. 15, 2020

He served in Vietnam for 3 years and other places in that region. He was an electrician then and served on a the USS Oriskany and on the Navafria among others. In 1970 he went to Naval Dive School in San Diego and spent the rest of his career as a Navy Diver. He retired from the navy but re-enlisted To help start the US Naval Diving & Salvage Training Program at Panama City Beach, Florida. He finally retired after 24 years of service as Chief Electrician Saturation Diver. He was a diver on and off shore for a few years but then joined the Merchant Marines on a ship leased to the government to carry troops and munitions during the Gulf War. He served 20 years in the merchant marines but serving our military. He had numerous sail boats of his own and spent much time sailing. In the end he died from mesothelioma contracted from his time in the Navy.

We had an amazing walk this morning. The sun coming up threw the clouds were beautiful. I want to thank everyone who honked and waved in helping me honor this hero. It was great.

He will not be forgotten !
