Our walk today was dedicated in honor of:

Air Force Veteran John S. Davis, Age 84 of Crossville, TN.
Died Jul. 19, 2024

Following college, John proudly served as an Air Force pilot, flying C-124 cargo planes during the Vietnam War. He continued his passion for flying throughout his life, with his proudest achievement as a founding member of the American Sonex Association in Crossville, TN. For many years, he would organize a fly-in of Sonex enthusiasts at the local airport – with attendees flying in from all over the country. During the weekend, Sonex builders learned new skills, took demo rides, met fellow builders– all under John’s tireless organization and generosity. He often gave of his time and expertise, to help fellow Sonex members get their airplanes built, inspected and into the air.

It was an honor to walk 10.30 Miles with Air Force Veteran John S. Davis. We walked out to Northside Drive and walked over to 127 and headed to town where we stopped at the Veterans Memorial Park where we read some names of our Fallen Brothers on the Memorial Wal. We then walked over to West Ave. and headed back north and headed back to the house. We had a great walk. I want to thank everyone who honked, waved, and saluted in helping us honor this hero. It was amazing. Thank you !

Air Force Veteran John S. Davis will not be forgotten !
