Today my walk was dedicated in honor of:
Korean War Navy Veteran Stan Baber of Noblesville IN.
Died Feb. 24 2016
He enlisted in the Navy when he was 17 early fall of 1952. He did not graduate from high school. He was a strong strapping farm boy who was physically prepared for the military. He got his high school diploma while in the military. He was stationed state side for most of his tour. He did make it to Europe for a short period of time but did not see any war action.
He did not finish his last year of service as his daughter got very sick and he left to take care of his family.
Stan was my uncle and I always enjoyed hearing his stories that he told about his Navy experience.
His wife (My Aunt) passed away Sep. 11, 2015 , He is servived by three daughters, Tammy, Denise, Carla and a Son, Stanley Sherman Baber II
Had an amazing walk today. I want to thank everyone who honked and waved in helping me honor this hero. It was amazing.
He will NOT be forgotten.
Thank you for your service and helping us remember all the veterans and active military. My husband served 20 years in the Coast Guard. My son is serving in the Navy and my other son served in the Army.
You made our day with your actions.
God bless you.
Thank you Pat. It is an honor to be able to walk for them.
