Our walk today was dedicated in honor of:

Army Veteran Edward Lee Garren Sr, Age 81 of Ozone, TN.
Died Feb. 16, 2012

He was born in Alabama before moving to Tennessee at the age of 16. Where he met his wife Addie. They were married for 61 years.

CPL Garren was drafted into the Army during the Korean War. He left for basic training at Ft. Leonard Wood in Missouri on Feb. 7, 1952. He was sent to Korea on Oct. 20, 1952 where he was stationed at Kimpo Air Base.

He retired from w&D Construction at 65 so he would be able to pick up his grandchildren from school. He is greatly missed by his 6 children, 8 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.

It was a great honor to walk 10.34 Miles with Army Veteran Edward Lee Garren Sr today. We started out around 7am and the temp. was around 27 deg. We headed west and took Northside Drive over to 127 and we headed South. We made a stop at the Veterans Memorial Park where we read some names of our Fallen Brothers on the Memorial Wall. We then walked to Lantana Road and cut back over to 127 and headed north. We made a turn at the Bakery and then headed back towards the house. I want to thank everyone who honked, waved, and saluted in helping me honor this hero. We had 431 honks. It was amazing. Thank you.

Army Veteran Edward Lee Garren Sr will not be forgotten !
