My walk today was dedicated in honor of:
Marine LCPL Lucas C. Scott, Age 20 of Peebles, OH.
KIA Dec. 3, 2010 Operation Enduring Freedom
He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.
Scott was killed Dec. 3 while conducting hostile combat operations in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, according to the Department of Defense. He had celebrated his 20th birthday only two days before he died.
Scott received his diploma from Peebles High School in 2009. He spent his last two years of high school attending Adams County Career and Technical Center. He ran track and cross country for the Peebles High School, and played soccer.
His Awards and Decorations include: the Purple Heart(2), Afghanistan Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and NATO Medal.
We had an amazing 8.10 Mile walk today. I want to thank everyone who honked, waved, and saluted in helping me honor this hero.
Marine LCPL Lucas C. Scott will not be forgotten !
