Marine LCPL Travis M. Nelson, Age 19 of Pace, FL.
KIA Aug. 18, 2011
LCPL Nelson was assigned to 1st Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C
died Aug. 18 while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan.
We had a great 6.10 Mile walk this morning. W walked by the lake and sat and watched the geese for a short time before heading to town. We walked by the Fire and Police Stations and then made a stop at the War Memorial Park. We took some time and read some names of our Fallen brothers on the Memorial Wall and then walked by the Train Depot. We then made a stop in at the Frost Cemetery to visit some of our Fallen brothers before heading home. It was a beautiful morning. I want to thank everyone who honked, waved, and saluted in helping us honor this hero. We had 192 honks this morning. Thank you !
Marine LCPL Travis M. Nelson will not be forgotten !
