Our walk today was dedicated in honor of :
Navy Veteran Isaiah Pent, Age 19 of Lewistown, PA.
Died Apr. 23, 2023
Served as a Culinary Specialist onboard USS Virginia (SSN-74), stationed in Kittery Maine.
Isaiah was a sensitive soul with a big heart who loved his family and animals. His hobbies included drawing, completing spray paint art, and cooking. He had incredible artistic talent.
Isaiah can be best described as a giving and selfless person. Sharing with others brought him joy, and his warm smile exuded the joy and love that was within him. He cared deeply for the people in his life, and was kind and compassionate to their needs.
It was an honor to walk with Navy Veteran Isaiah Pent 12.24 Miles today. We woke early and headed out the door around 5am. Still dark but was nice and quiet. We could hear a rooster as we headed west on Sparta Hwy. We turned down Northside Drive and we watched the sun come up. We didn’t think we would get to see it because of the clouds but sure enough , as always, It was beautiful. We reached 127 and headed south towards town. We made a stop at the Veterans Park and read several names of our Fallen Brothers on the memorial wall. We then headed west and stopped by to see the big boat anchor in the window at Boats and Harbors. We then headed south on West Ave. and then walked up water tower hill on 127. We continued walking south past the hospital and then we made a stop at the American Legion. We read some names on the Memorial Bricks at the big ship anchor. The Anchor brought back some memories of my time on the ship and I wondered if Isaiah had some good memories onboard his ship. We spent some more time reading some names and then we headed up Miller Ave. We got to CCHS and I had a strong urge to go see the Navy’s Blue Angels Jet at the school, so we stopped and visited it. We then walked into Holiday Hills and made a short stop at Holiday Hills Lake before heading home. We had an amazing walk. I want to thank everyone who honked, waved, and saluted. We had 452 honks today. It was amazing.
Navy Veteran Isaiah Pent will never be forgotten !
