Our walk was dedicated in honor of :
Marine/Army Veteran SSG Dustin Lee Parker Age 39 from Crossville, TN.
Died Aug. 10, 2019
Dustin was a Cumberland County High School graduate. Served 6 1/2 years in the Marine Corps and 8 years in the Army. Dustin was also a Volunteer Firefighter 2004-2010.
We had a great 2.2 Mile walk this morning. We had storms most of the night so I didn’t get much sleep but it was going to happen, rain or shine. We walked up to the War Memorial Park down town and we read the names on the Memorial Walls. We then headed back towards home as it was starting to rain. We got a little wet but had a great walk. I want to thank everyone who honked, waved, and saluted in helping us honor this hero today. We had 143 honks. I also want to thank everyone who is walking today in honor of Dustin to help bring awareness across the United States about Veteran Suicide. I will be posting a link to the video once I have everyone’s information. Thank you !
