Today my walk was dedicated in honor of:

Army SGT Richard Roy Brewer, Age 24 of Star City, AR
Died Sep. 13, 1976 in Germany

He was a Vietnam War Veteran

Buried on Sept 21, 1976 in Drake Cemetery, Star City, AR.

He was on his 2nd year of 2nd tour in Germany. He was the driver and was with an assistant driver in a U.S. Army Goer filled with diesel fuel. He moved the truck over to allow others to pass and the ground collapsed below the Goer. Sgt Brewer was crushed and died within 15 minutes and the asst driver was taken to hospital and released.

Sgt. Richard R. Brewer of the Hq Co, 1st BN, 37th Armor, 1st Armd Div and stationed in Katterbach, Germany.

He is survived by his wife and 2 children.

We had a great 5.96 Mile walk today. What a beautiful walk. We walked by Holiday Hills Lake and then walked up town to the War Memorial Park and then headed back. It was a beautiful walk. I want to thank everyone who honked, waved and saluted in helping me honor this hero. We had 172 honks. Thank You.

Army SGT Richard Roy Brewer will not be forgotten !

NOTE: I want to thank Mitchell’s Drug Store for flying our beautiful colors.
