This morning my walk was dedicated in honor of:
Army Veteran SSGT Dennis C. Schurr, Age 69 of Almond, NC.
Died Jan. 19,2020
died of illnesses due to Agent Orange exposure during his service as an Airborne Ranger in Vietnam.
He was born and raised in Sidney, OH. Graduated Sidney High School in 1968 and joined the Army Oct. 1968.
He served two tours in Vietnam as an 82nd airborne Division Ranger, Long Range Patrol team leader and adviser
to the Sout Vietnamese Army.
In his first tour he served as Ranger Instructor for K Co. 75th Infantry Rangers.
In his second tour he was a light and heavy weapons specialist for the 52nd Vietnamese Ranger Battalion.
He was a two time recipient of the Bronze Star.
We had a great 7 mile walk. We visited the Crossville City Cemetery for a couple hours to visit with some fallen veterans and clean some head stones. I want to thank everyone who honked and waved in helping me honor this hero this morning. It was amazing.
He will not be forgotten !
