My walk was dedicated in honor of:
Navy Veteran CPO Christopher S. Kyle – Age 38 of Odessa, TX
Died Feb. 2, 2013 – He was killed by a former Marine who had posttraumatic stress disorder.
Chris served from 1999-2009 – He was a Navy SEAL sniper who had served four tours in the Iraq War
and was awarded several commendations for acts of heroism and meritorious service in combat.
There is a movie of him called “American Sniper”.
Kyle originally tried for the Marines, but a Navy recruiter convinced him to attempt becoming a SEAL.
He was first rejected due to pins in his arms post-injury, Kyle later received an offer to attend Basic
Underwater Demolition SEAL school and joined in 1999.
Had an amazing walk. The weather was beautiful. I want to thank everyone for the honks and waves n helping me honor this hero. He will NOT be forgotten.
