My walk today was dedicated in honor of:

Civil War Veteran John Franklin Cooley, age 92 of Crossville, TN.
Died May 29 1924

He was a SGT in the Confederate States Army. Company C, 5th Regiment, Tennessee Cavalry

He is buried in the Clifty Cemetery

We had a great 14.40 Mile walk today. We walked to his grave in the Clifty Cemetery. The weather was perfect. It was all out in the country walking today so it was a little different. We had a great walk. I want to thank my friend Robert for walking with us today and I want to thank everyone who honked, waved, and saluted in helping us honor this hero today. We had 42 honks today. Thank you.

Civil War Veteran John Franklin Cooley will not be forgotten !

Top left, John Franklin Cooley, next-his grandson Floyd G. Cooley, next-my father Don Polly, then Kerry Polly and His grandson Josh Polly

  1. Thank you so very much for this! He was my Great, Great Grandfather. His grandson, Floyd Cooley-Sparta, was a WWII veteran. Maybe a “walk” in the near future?
