Our walk was dedicated in honor of:
Navy HM3 Mitch Colton Goad, Age 20 of Corpus Christi, TX.
Died Sep 3, 2010
He was a 2008 graduate of Manteno High School, where he was a member of the football, track and wrestling teams. He had been a corpsman in the U.S. Navy since 2008, stationed in Corpus Christi. He loved to hunt and fish, and he loved country music. He enjoyed horseback riding and had participated in bull riding in rodeos.
We had a great 5.92 mile walk this morning. We walked by Lake Holiday and watched the steam coming off the water. As we headed up town to the War Memorial Park we stopped by Boats & Harbors to see the big boat anchor. After leaving the War Memorial Park we stopped by the Train Depot and then headed back home. I want to thank all who honked, waved, and saluted in helping me honor this hero. We had 157 honks. It was amazing. Thank You.
Navy HM3 Mitch Colton Goad will not be forgotten !
