He had enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Entered the service via Regular Military. Served during the Vietnam War. Bedwell had the rank of Private First Class. His military occupation or specialty was Machine Gunner.
We had a great 6.95 Mile walk today. We stopped at the Crossville City Cemetery and visited with a few of our brothers in arms and then we stopped at the War Memorial Park down town. I want to thank everyone who honked, waved, and saluted in helping us honor this great hero. We had 191 honks. It was amazing. Thank you.
Marine PFC Sammie Lee Bedwell will not be forgotten !
I want to say thank you for remembering and honoring not only my great uncle but all of our fallen soldier’s who made the ultimate sacrifice. It is people like you who will continue to assure me that our hero’s will never be forgotten.
