Today our walk was dedicated in honor of ;
Air Force Capt. Vivian Ardene Hare, Age 80 of Sparta, TN.
Died Apr. 29, 2019
Vivian Graduated high school in Pleasant Hill and from Baroness Erlanger Schoole of Nursing in Chattanooga. She was employed at Erlanger Hospital before joining the Air Force where she worked for five years as a registered nurse and became captain.
We had a great 7.76 Mile walk today. Even though we could not locate any of her family, we honored her by walking to her grave in the Crossville City Cemetery. It took us over an hour to locate her grave. Just when we thought we were not going to locate it , we found it. We placed a flag and also a penny. A penny on a military grave stands for that a Veteran has come to visit. We visited several of our Fallen Brothers before heading out. We made a stop at the War Memorial Park before heading home. I want to thank my friend Robert for walking with us today. I also want to thank everyone who honked, waved, and saluted in helping us honor this hero. We had 142 honks. It was amazing. Thank You.
Air Force Capt. Vivian Ardene Hare will not be forgotten !
