Our walk today was dedicated in honor of:
Air Force Veteran William Priester, Age 67 of Newton, NJ.
Died Mar. 1, 2021
He werved from 1971 to 1975
Duty Stations include Pease AFB, NH, RAF Upper Heyford, UK, and Chanute AFB, IL
When asked why he joined, he said he needed discipline and a direction in life. Always joked the draft would have probably gotten him anyway. He enjoyed his time in service and was a big influence to his daughter joining the service.
It was a great honor to walk 6 miles with Air Force Veteran William Priester today. We started out walking by Holiday Hills Lake and then we headed towards town. We made a stop in the Veterans Memorial Park where we read some names of our Fallen Brothers on the Memorial Wall. We then walked north till we got to the Bakery where we headed back west. Before we made it home their was a car that stopped and some nice people gave me a coin and thanked me for my service. I take these gifts and I put them in my RUK Sack so when I do walks with my RUK Sack they all go with me. I want to thank everyone who honked, waved and saluted in helping me honor this hero today. We had 161 honks. It was amazing. Thank you.
Air Force Veteran William Priester will not be forgotten !
