My walk today was dedicated in honor of :
Marine PFC James Martin Klopmeyer, Age 20 of Millstadt, IL.
KIA Dec. 19, 1967 Vietnam
He is honored at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall on panel 32E, Line 24.
James is buried at St James Cemetery in Millstatt, IL.
PFC James Martin Klopmeyer was killed on his 10th day in Vietnam.
He served with Company M, 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, Third Marine Amphibious Force.
PFC Klopmeyer was awarded: Purple Heart, National Defense, Vietnam Service, and Vietnam Campaign medals.
We had a great 6.73 mile walk this morning. We walked a new road today that I have never walked. It was Old Mail Road. I want to thank OL Dave’s Pawn & Gun for the Christmas Cookies. We made a stop at the war memorial park down town . I want to thank everyone who honked, waved, and saluted in helping me honor this hero.
