Today our walk was dedicated in honor of:
Army SPC Kamisha J. Block, Age 20 of Vidor, TX.
Died Aug. 16, 2007 during Operation Iraqi Freedom
Spc. Kamisha Block was deployed with the 401st Military Police Company when she was murdered by a fellow soldier at Camp Liberty, Iraq on Aug. 16, 2007. The military tried to cover it up. Family is still waiting for answers.
A lifelong resident of Vidor, she was a 2005 graduate of Vidor High School, and a member of Eastgate United Pentecostal Church of Vidor, and was proudly serving her country in the United States Army in Iraq as a Military Police Officer.
We had a great 10.05 mile walk this morning. We started out just before sunrise and walk out on Northside Drive and we watched the sun come up. It was so peaceful. We then headed South on 127 and headed up to the War Memorial Park. Before heading home we walked by the Military Museum. I want to thank everyone who honked, waved, and saluted in helping us honor this hero. We had 254 honks. It was amazing. Thank You.
Army SPC Kamisha J. Block will not be forgotten !
