Our walk today was dedicated in honor of:
Army Veteran Charles Miller, Age 76 of Crossville, TN.
Died Mar. 22, 2024
Charles served in the U.S. Army ranking as Sergeant in the Vietnam War gaining the name “Machine Gun Charlie”. He was awarded 5 Bronze Medals and a Purple Heart Award during his military service. He worked most of his life as the General Manager for Loram Maintenance of Way Railroad Co., and then on to S&W Electrical Contracting Co., retiring as an Electrician.
He is survived by his daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and brothers, sisters and a host of nieces and nephews.
We had a great 9.36 Mile walk today. We started out by walking Northside Drive and then we made a stop at the 9/11 Memorial before heading to town. Once we got to town we made a stop at the War Memorial Park then we met up with the Young Marines and presented colors for the start of the 2024 Car Show. We had a great time walking around looking at all the old cars and trucks. We then made a stop at the Disabled American Veterans office before heading home. I want to thank everyone who honked, waved, and saluted in helping me honor this hero. We had 274 honks. It was amazing. Thank you.
Army Veteran Charles Miller will not be forgotten !
