My walk today was dedicated in honor of :

Navy LCDR James Thomas Kearns, Age 36 of Port Washington, WI.
KIA Sept. 14, 1965 Vietnam

James is buried at Seaside Memorial Park Corpus Christi, Texas. James is located in the Holy Rosary section, (section O), lot 176, 5th row in from the south, flat granite marker. He is honored on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall at Panel 2E, Line 83

LCDR James T. Kearns was a Navy aviator assigned to Attack Squadron 196 (VA-196), Carrier Air Wing Nineteen (CVW-19), aboard the USS Bon Homme Richard. LCDR Kearns was killed on September 14, 1965, when his A-1J Skyraider (#142057) was destroyed in the premature explosion of its own bomb during a mission five miles southwest of Soc Trang in South Vietnam.

LCDR Kerns was awarded Puple Heart, Air Medal, National Defense, Vietnam Service, and Vietnam Campaign Medals.

We had a great walk this morning. I want to thank everyone who honked and waved in helping me honor this hero this morning.

He will not be forgotten !
