Our walk today was dedicated in honor of:
Army Pvt. Michael W. Murdock, Age 22 of Chocowinity, NC.
KIA Sep. 11, 2008 during Operation Enduring Freedom
PVT Murdock was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 6th Field Artillery Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas
Died Sept. 11 at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan, of wounds sustained at Combat Outpost Lybert, Afghanistan, when he was struck by enemy fire.
We had a great 6.87 Mile walk this morning. We walked by Lake Holiday and then we headed toward town and made a stop at the War Memorial Park where we read some names on the Memorial Wall. We then headed north and stopped in at the 9/11 Memorial. We got to talk to a few people and then we headed back home. I want to thank everyone who honked, waved and saluted in helping me honor this hero. We had 126 honks. It was amazing. Thank you.
Army Pvt. Michael W. Murdock will not be forgotten !
