My walk today was dedicated in honor of :
Army PFC Garryl D. Cardinal, Age 20 of Montrose, MN.
KIA Nov. 9, 1968 Vietnam
Garryl is honored on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall on Panel 39W, Line 40
Served with the 198th Light Infantry Brigade, 5th Battalion, 46th Infantry, A Company
He was drafted into the Army. Entered via Selective Service. Served during the Vietnam War. He began his tour on October 15, 1968. He had the rank of Private First Class. Occupation or specialty was Light Weapons Infantry.
PFC Cardinal was awarded: Purple Heart, National Defense, Vietnam Service, and Vietnam Campaign Medals.
Our 9.36 mile walk today was an amazing walk. What a beautiful day. We walked threw The Gardens today and it was so beautiful. I want to thank everyone who honked, waved, and saluted in helping me honor this hero.
Army PFC Garryl D. Cardinal will not be forgotten !
