My walk today was dedicated in honor of:
Army CPL Alfred Eli Alvey Jr, Age 20 of Morganfield, KY.
KIA Mar. 8, 1969 Vietnam
He is buried at St Agnes Cemetery in Uniontown, KY
He is honored at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall on Panel 30W, Line 72.
Corporal Alfred Eli Alvey Jr., Served with Company B, 2nd Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division, United States Army Vietnam.
His death was a result of hostile small arms ground fire. Cpl Alvey’s body was recovered and he was returned home to his family for burial. His dogtags state he was a Catholic from Morganfield, KY.
We had a great 5.48 Mile walk today. We stopped by the war memorial park down town . The weather was beautiful. I want to thank my friend Robert for walking with us. I want to thank everyone who honked, waved, and saluted in helping us honor this hero.
