Today my walk was dedicated in honor of:
Navy Veteran Master Chief Frederick J Drury, Age 80 of Brooksville, FL.
Died Sept. 1, 2018
Fred served his country honorably for 21 years in the United States Navy, attaining the rank of Master Chief. After retiring from the military, Fred became an entrepreneur, writing military study guides for various ranks and also investing in real estate.
Fred moved to Crossville where he spent 20 years before relocating to Brooksville, FL, for the remaining 26 years of his life. He was member of the American Legion, Marine Corps League and a lifetime member of the VFW. He also was an avid bowler and earned a state champion title in New Hampshire. Fred also enjoyed dancing, music and he had a great sense of humor. His greatest joys in life came from his daughters and grandchildren, as he loved them all unconditionally and with intense pride. Fred was affectionately known by those dearest to him as Daddy, Pops, Grandpa and Papa Fred.
He is buried in the Florida National Cemetery
We had a great walk this morning. We spent a couple hours visiting some of our fallen veterans in the City Cemetery and cleaning their military headstones. The weather was great and the walk was amazing. I want to thank everyone that honked and waved in helping me honor this hero.
He will not be forgotten !
