Today our ride was dedicated in honor of:
Marine LCPL Tyler A. Roads, Age 20 of Burney, CA.
KIA Jul. 10, 2010 during Operation Enduring Freedom
LCPL Roads was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 6th Marines, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.
Family and friends described Roads as a considerate young man with a strong sense of responsibility. A former teacher says Roads knew he wanted to join the Marines even before graduating Burney’s Mountain View High School in 2007.
LCPL Roads is buried in the Burney District Cemetery, Burney, CA.
We had a great 21.71 Mile ride this morning. We started out riding threw The Gardens and then back towards Holiday Hills Lake. While riding around the lake we got to see lots of wildlife. Deer and Wild Turkey. The lake was beautiful . We then headed up town to the War Memorial Park where we read some names on the wall and then we took 127 and headed out towards Walmart. We then made a stop at the 9/11 Memorial before heading home. I want to thank everyone who honked, waved, and saluted in helping to honor this hero. We had 6 honks today. Thank you.
Marine LCPL Tyler A. Roads will not be forgotten !
